Dodge Flower Area Seeking New Name To End Confusion
|
The Dodge Flower Neighborhood in Midtown is considering a name change. The neighborhood is surrounded by neighborhoods with similar names, such as the Oak Flower and North Dodge neighborhoods.
The three names have been confused and mismatched, and the city has sent mail to the wrong neighborhood association because of the confusion, according to the latest Dodge Flower newsletter.
Dodge Flower is bounded roughly by East Grant Road on the south, North Alvernon Way on the east, East Glenn Street on the north and North Richey Boulevard on the west.
The neighborhood association is seeking ideas for new names for the area from people living in the neighborhood. A vote is expected at the Sept. 22 meeting at 7 p.m. at Catalina Heights Church, 2741 N. Dodge Blvd.
Ideas can also be e-mailed to KBJJ2000@cs.com. The next Dodge Flower Neighborhood meeting will be Monday at 7 p.m., also at the church.
