all rates move in lock step with the Fed. Mortgage rates, for example,
hovered around 7 percent while the Fed was aggressively slashing rates in
2001, but more recently have fallen faster than the fed funds rate. Other
products, such as credit cards, have built-in delays before they reflect
Fed actions.
